Friend Park Mukawa

Camping in the mountains, surrounded by nature, is the perfect way to relax and recharge, and Friend Park Mukawa makes the ideal destination for such a laid-back getaway. This family-friendly riverbed park and campground in Yamanashi’s Hokuto region covers some 60,000 square meters along the Omu River, 650 meters above sea level. Open from March until November, Friend Park Mukawa has plenty of sites for camping in tents and 100 spots for car camping, surrounded by large birch trees. The campground offers a more basic camping experience with no bungalows or cabins, and visitors are encouraged to bring their own tents in order to fully enjoy the lush natural surroundings.

On hot days, the Omu River with its clear water from Mount Kaikomagatake is an ideal place to swim, while the park’s barbecue area provides a place to cook food out in the open. There is a play area and a large fountain for kids to enjoy. Campers can also enjoy magnificent views of the Southern Alps and the Yatsugatake Mountains. Small dogs are allowed on the grounds but must be on a leash at all times.
