This course runs by spots where it is possible get in touch with the spirits of the World Cultural Heritage Site Mt. Fuji. These include oshi no ie (pilgrims’ inns), which served as lodgings and provided visitors with sacred Fuji teachings related to believing in and worshiping Mt. Fuji, and a shrine where Konohanasakuya-hime (Cherry Tree Blooming Princess), who is known as the deity of Mt. Fuji, is enshrined. This course has few ups and downs, so is recommended for cyclists of all levels including beginners. On this course, it is possible to enjoy many different landscapes while cycling past shrines, through forests, and along lakes.
After the starting point, a road without any ups or downs continues for a while. After the passing Fuji Omuro Sengen-jinja Shrine, along the 6-km stretch between Chichisaki-kita Intersection and Funatsu Tainai Jukei Lava Tree Mold, there is an upward slope that has an elevation difference of about 200 m, the largest on this course.
The starting point is Kenritsu Fuji-Hokuroku Parking Lot.
The course goes through a town of pilgrims’ inns and through Kana-dorii Gate, passes near to Lake Kawaguchiko, and then heads toward Kawaguchi Sengen-jinja Shrine.
Cross over Kawaguchiko-ohashi Bridge and head toward Fuji Omuro Sengen-jinja Shrine.
The course proceeds southward on Funatsu-guchi Mountain Trail and toward Funatsu Tainai Jukei Lava Tree Mold.
After going northward on Yoshida-guchi Mountain Trail, the course goes by Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen-jinja Shrine and then returns to Kenritsu Fuji-Hokuroku Parking Lot, which is the finish line.
