No tent? No problem. Absolutely no gear at all? PICA’s got you covered.
▲PICA Fuji Saiko (Fujikawaguchiko Town)
PICA is a camping resort company with several locations across Yamanashi and neighboring prefectures. Their mission is to take the stress out of camping by cultivating camping plans that cater to both beginner and experienced campers.
We decided to visit PICA’s Fuji Saiko campground, which is conveniently located in the town of Fujikawaguchiko—famous for having some of the best views of Mt. Fuji in the world. The campground itself is situated on the shore of Lake Saiko (check out the interactive map below to get a closer look).

At the Fuji Saiko campground alone, there are over 20 lodging options to choose from. Since this was a few of our group members' first-ever camping experience, we decided to go with the classic option of selecting a campsite and renting a tent with an all-inclusive camping set.
▲Tent, fire pit, lantern, cooking utensils, cooler, chairs, etc. (all rentable)
The rest of our group enjoyed a more luxurious stay at PICA’s “Fire Base TAKIBI,” which is a fully furnished trailer complete with an A/C unit, bath/shower, toilet, kitchen, storage space and more.

Whichever lodging option you decide to go with, PICA will be sure to hook you up with everything you need to have a camp-tastic experience. Or, if you opt to bring your own camping gear, PICA has many site-only options as well.
Although PICA has several on-site facilities/amenities you can use (rental shop, kitchen areas, restrooms, showers, hair dryers, coin laundry, etc.)—here are some items you might want to bring from home:
・Toothbrush
・Tissues
・Pajamas
・Pillow
・Shower set (towel, shampoo, conditioner, body soap)
▲Rentable fishing gear, canoes and mountain bikes
PICA’s Fuji Saiko is full of fun on-site activities like fishing, canoes, mountain bikes, nature trails and a vast dog run. Yes, you heard right. Your four-legged friends are welcome as well, so bring them along for the experience and let them live their best pup life! (Additional charges apply.)
Also, if you enjoy birdwatching, pull up your bird identification app and see if you can identify the local rosefinches, coal tits and the other various species that inhabit the area.
We already told you that PICA would hook you up with camping gear, but did we also mention that they’ll feed you too? You’ll have to do the grilling yourself, but their BBQ plan will set you up with an array of meats, veggies, sauces, and yakisoba ingredients. Oh, and don’t forget to save room for some roasted marshmallows!

Before we knew it, the sun went down and the night went quiet…
Then, we were awoken by this incredible creamsicle-hued landscape…
