Fujiyoshida is known for its spectacular views of Mt. Fuji, however if you’re planning on staying a night or more in Fujiyoshida City, Hotel Kaneyamaen is the place to be! How would you like to experience an all-in-one package of Japanese culture with the iconic symbol of Japan in the background, as you relax in the hot spring baths?
Yamanashi Prefecture initially implemented the Green Zone Premium certification system to guarantee the safety, security and comfort of both customers and employees, particularly in response to infectious illnesses like Covid-19. Although the pandemic has subsided, Yamanashi Prefecture continues to emphasise the importance of infection control measures through this system.
Hotel Kaneyamaen has gone above and beyond to ensure the comfort and safety of its guests, by not only acquiring the Yamanashi Green Zone Premium facility certification, but also going further to acquire the internationally recognised WELL Health-Safety Rating. The WELL Health-Safety Rating has been implemented in over 70 countries around the world. It is an international rating system established by the IWBI in the US in 2020, designed to certify facilities’ readiness and response to infectious diseases and natural disasters, following the outbreak of the pandemic.
The safety rating certifies that the facilities are safe, ensuring customers of the highest standard in cleaning and sanitisation procedures, emergency preparedness programs, health service resources, and air and water quality management. As of January 2024, the hotel has been the first in the prefecture to obtain the WELL Health-Safety Rating. Furthermore, the hotel staffs are fluent in several languages, including English and Chinese, assuring easy communication with tourists.
How are facilities evaluated for the WELL Health-Safety Rating?
First of all, the hotel’s hot springs offer spectacular views of Mt. Fuji with a rooftop hot spring on the top floor and two open-air hot springs on the ground floor. Whether you’re an early bird or a night owl, the opening hours cater to both spanning from the crack of dawn at 5am to midnight. The rooftop hot spring has separate hours for men and women, divided into morning and afternoon sessions. On the first floor, there is a display screen indicating the current number of guests using the hot springs, along with the designated times for men and women. However, if you're looking for a more private experience, there are rooms that offer an open-air bath to stay. The interiors of the hotel are built meticulously to bring you back in time to get a feel of the traditional Japanese streets of Japan with artificial rivers running through the reception.
Feeling parched after a soak? For all the alcohol lovers out there, you’re about to enter wine heaven. The wine lounge offers an all-you-can-drink area available to guests at the hotel. Being the wine prefecture, all sorts of Yamanashi’s locally produced wine are offered alongside appetisers and snacks on the side. Not a fan of alcohol? Not to worry! Non-alcoholic drinks are also available with ice cream and snacks on the side to enjoy on the terrace outside.
